Fintech startup Cloud9 has acquired digital ticketing platform Mtickets, the two companies said in a statement on Monday.
- •Mtickets has processed over 1 million tickets since its founding in 2014 by Brian Bogonko while Cloud9 is a digital banking startup founded by Tesh Mbaabu, a serial tech entrepreneur who's other companies include Marketforce and ChpterAI, in 2025.
- •By embedding financial services within ticketing services, Cloud9 and Mtickets said they "aim to remove friction from the entire event journey while unlocking new financial opportunities for both consumers and organizers."
- •The two companies did not disclose the value of the transaction.
“Mtickets has always focused on making it easier for people to access events and for organizers to
reach their audiences. Partnering with Cloud9 allows us to take that further — by integrating payments
and unlocking financing, we’re giving organizers the full stack of tools to build bigger and better
experiences, while making the process smoother for customers,” said Brian Bogonko, Founder & CEO,
Mtickets.
According to the statement, Cloud9 will begin rolling out credit solutions tailored for event organizers, backed by dedicated capital to fund core logistics, manage cash flow and reduce financial risks.
“This partnership is about making everyday experiences better for consumers and more sustainable
for the people behind them. For our customers, it means simpler, more rewarding ways to pay for and
access events. For event organizers, it means access to the financial tools they’ve historically lacked —
especially credit,” said Tesh Mbaabu, Founder & CEO, Cloud9.
