Hexing Group, a Chinese manufacturer of power products, will investUS$10 million (KSh 1.29 billion) to establish a Nairobi-based assembly line for imported power products.
- Hexing Group specializes in manufacturing power metering and charging products, water metering, power distribution products, treatment solutions, inverters, charging piles, and energy storage batteries.
- The capital will also be used to set up a regional representative office for the company in Nairobi.
- Hexing’s Regional CEO for East Africa, Zhou Xiping, also said that the assembly line is slated to create employment for skilled locals and boost economic growth.
“Hexing is excited to expand our footprint in Kenya, a country that serves as the hub of the East African economy and possesses immense potential for development and market opportunities,” Zhou stated.
“We anticipate that this new base will not only create employment for the local community but also stimulate economic growth and deliver advanced solutions for smart power distribution, water management, and emerging energy markets in East Africa,” he added.
Kenya and other East African countries have been at the forefront of promoting innovative energy solutions. Hexing Group was founded in 1992 and was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange eight years ago.
