China Southern Airlines has suspended its direct flights to Nairobi, amid the rising cases of the coronavirus, a move that experts say will hurt the booming trade between Kenya and China.
The suspension of the airline’s flights (Nairobi-Changsha, and Nairobi-Guangzou), which initially operated four weekly direct flights since June last year, will take effect from 10th February 2020.
The airline has also suspended travel reservations on the carrier till the end of June 2020.
Business Daily reports that the changes will last up to 28th March 2020.
China Southern Airlines Company Limited is an airline headquartered in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. It ranks among China’s “Big Three” airlines,alongside Air China and China Eastern Airlines. It is also the world’s seventh-largest airline measured by passengers carried, as well as Asia’s largest airline in fleet size, revenue, and passengers carried.
