CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge has disapproved and criticized financial institutions linked in the loss of Ksh 9 billion in the latest National Youth Services graft scandal. He says the issue does not involve lack of clear guidelines but a deliberate measure of not following them.
The Governor says the regulators priorities in the NYS probe will be to recover the resources lost, deal with the banks involved and finally tightening policies.
“We are working closely with the Director of Criminal investigations and other agencies, there two directions being pursued, the recipient’s perspective and the banks/entities involved in this NYS case. All those involved will be held accountable.” He adds.
