The Celo community in Kenya on 3rd November 2021 hosted a local version of Kuneco (Celo Community Meetups) to help participants learn more about Decentralized Finance (DeFi) while exploring the different applications.
Over 70 builders, founders and other community members participating in the Celo ecosystem came together to learn more about Celo, the opportunities available, and how to participate in the growing movement to make money beautiful.
Charles Nichols, an experienced mission-driven entrepreneur took participants throughhis experience building the decentralised finance application on the Celo blockchain. Before joining the ecosystem,Charles co-founded SunCulture, a company based in Nairobi, Kenya which sells the AgroSolar Irrigation Kit, an entirely solar-powered drip irrigation system delivers solar energy solutions to smallholder farmers in Africa on affordable “Pay As You Grow” financing terms from $1 per day.
AfterCharles Nichols presentation, Daniel Kimotho, Kenya Ecosystem Lead at cLabs, a member of the Alliance for Prosperity and part of the community working on Celo, took participants through some of the opportunities that builders can explore on the ecosystem.
