The Central Bank of Kenya(CBK) is seeking KSh 60 billion in May, through Treasury Bonds Sale, for budgetary support.
CBK offer to investors
The Treasury Bonds on sale are the ten year and 25-year25-year debt instruments with a coupon rate of 13.924% for the 25-year tenor, while the 10-year bond will have a market-determined coupon rate.
The bond will be on sale between 28th April 2022 and May 10th 2022, with investors required to put in a minimum of KSh 50,000.
The Auction date will be on 11th May 2022, while bids closure is 10th May 2022 at 2.00 pm. The CBK will announce the auction results on 12th May 2022.
The state fiscal agent will rediscount that bonds at 3% above the prevailing market yield or coupon rate, whichever is higher, upon written confirmation by the NSE.
The treasury bonds will be listed at the NSE with secondary trading in multiples of KSh 50,000 to commence on Tuesday 17th May 2022.
