The Central Bank of Kenya has decided to publish the average lending rates for various loan products by Commercials operating in the Kenyan soil as well as the overall average weighted lending rates by the commercial banks.
The regulator says the move is aimed at providing borrowers with information in order to make informed decisions before taking loans.
CBK also says this will bring transparency in pricing of credit by the banks where by borrowers have for a long term time been exposed to high lending interest rates.
IMPORTANT NOTICE; The Kenyan Wallstreet Team Is currently working on a simpler format where by we will regularly update the interest rates of all commercial banks and a calculator to enable one calculate how the pricing works before making a decision on loan application
