CBK has announced the issuance of a 5-year Ksh50 billion bond for budgetary support in May. In a prospectus seen by Kenyan Wallstreet, CBK says that the auction date is Wednesday 6th of May.
The market-determined bond will mature in May 2025 with CBK encouraging investors to use treasury mobile direct or internet banking to purchase the bond.
Other bonds issued in 2020 include;
January : 5-year & 10-year Ksh50B bond for Budgetary support
February: 15-year and 25-year Ksh50B bond for budgetary support
March: 20-year and 25-year Ksh50B bond for budgetary support
April: 9-Year amortized Ksh60B bond for funding of infrastructure projects in the FY 2019/20 budget estimates
