Mozambique national carrier Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) has announced a temporary suspension of flights to Kenya from March 29 2021. A press statement from the airline attributes the suspension to “operational reasons.”
“LAM Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique S.A. informs that, for operational reasons, it will temporarily suspend connecting flights between Mozambique and Kenya, starting on March 29, 2021,” says the airline in a press statement, adding that it is aware of the inconvenience caused.
The statement from the airline does not indicate the specific operational reasons behind the suspension or the possible date of resumption.
However, it is worth noting that on February 1 2021, LAM suspended flights from Maputo to its coastal province of Inhambane and Vilankulo due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
