    Britam Plc Appoints New Deputy Chairman

    Britam Holdings Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Mohamed Said Karama as the Board’s Deputy Chairman, in accordance with Articles 116 of the company’s Articles of Association.

    His appointment took effect on 12th May 2020.

    Prior to his appointment, Mr Mohamed served as an independent non-executive director to the firm’s board as from 25th April 2017. He has also previously served as a member of the Investments and Strategy committee and Audit committee at Britam.

    Furthermore, he holds a Bachelor of Science, is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Certified Government Financial Manager.

    Britam Holdings Plc is a diversified financial services group that is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange. The group offers a wide range of financial products and services in insurance, asset management, property, and banking. It has a presence in seven Africa countries, among them Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Mozambique, and Malawi.

    In 2019, Britam made a profit of KSh3.5 Billion from a loss of KSh2.2 Billion at the end of 2018, with shareholder funds increasing to KSh29.3 billion from KSh23.9 billion recorded the previous financial year.
