    Britam donates Ksh 5 million to support the Pope’s visit to Kenya.

    Britam has donated Ksh 5 million to support the Catholic Church in preparing for the upcoming historic three- day  visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Kenya.

    The donation was handed over to his Eminence Cardinal John Njue, the Catholic Archbishop of Nairobi, by Mr Peter Munga, the Chairman of the Britam Insurance Board, to support the on-going preparations for the pope’s visit.

    Speaking during the event held at Donum Dei Karen attended by members of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, Mr Munga said Kenya was privileged to have Pope Francis visit the country.

    Mr Munga, who is also a co-chair of the organizing committee for the papal visit, said Britam would continue to support the church to enable it host the pope for the three days he will be in the country.

    The Pope is expected to arrive in the country on Wednesday, November 25 and leave for Uganda on Friday, November 27. During his visit to the country, he will hold Mass at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, which is expected to bring together hundreds of thousands of Catholics.

    Bishop James Wainaina, Chair of the Papal visit Fundraising Committee acknowledged the support from Britam and asked other corporates to give their support to the church to prepare for this historic visit.
