Britam, Kenya’s leading Insurance firm has appointed AfricInvest to its board of directors made of 12 members. AfricInvest is a company registered in Mauritius and it is comprised of; German-based Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft, Netherland’s FMO and French firm Proparco.
AfricInvest is a private equity company and the largest shareholder in Britam with a 17.55 per cent stake roughly valued at KSh3.6 billion. The PE firm picked its Managing Director, George Odo, to represent them on the board of Britam. George has worked in the financial industry for over 25 years. In addition to being an MD at AfricInvest, he is a Senior Partner in the company. He oversees operations in the Eastern and Southern African region. George has been on Britam’s board as a non-executive director since July 2018.
His appointment as AfricInvest representative took effect on 4th July 2019.
