Brenda Mbathi Appointed CEO of GE East Africa

American multinational conglomerate General Electric (GE) has announced the appointment of Brenda Mbathi as the new chief executive officer for East Africa.

She will oversee the next phase of strategy and growth for General Electric in East African markets, with the exception of Ethiopia which will be led by Daniel Hailu, CEO, GE Ethiopia.

She takes up the position a few months after its former executive for global operations in Africa Allan Kilavuka left for Jambojet.

“I am very excited to be leading General Electric’s regional growth in East Africa and look forward to working with our business leaders, team of dedicated and talented colleagues, as well as our trade partners, to ensure GE’s continued growth and success in the market,” Brenda Mbathi said.

Before her appointment, she was the GE’s executive director, government affairs and policy Eastern Africa; she joined the firm in 2015.
