Nigeria's Talent Marketplace, Bookings Africa, Launches in Kenya

Bookings Africa, a Nigerian talent marketplace for creatives, has officially launched in Kenya. This comes after Unicorn Group successfully financed the startup’s fundraising round.

However, Unicorn Group did not disclose the amount of money they invested in the startup.

The startup recently launched its mobile application, a move that is aimed at redefining the sourcing of creatives in the fields of media, entertainment, fashion, etc.

With the mobile application, users create a personal profile, upload their work portfolio, set their own rates, availability and thus manage their business better with guaranteed payments.

Bookings Africa provides a technology-led platform through which clients can hire service providers.

Since it’s launch in April 2019, more than 2,000 talented Africans have signed up – including DJs, dancers, equipment hire outlets, social media influencers and photographers, among others.

“I believe Africa is the future, yet, the biggest problem we face is unemployment,” Bookings Africa CEO Fadé Ogunro said back in October. “Bookings Africa tackles this issue by enabling millions of freelancers to gain recognition, monetise their talent and build a sustainable career on their terms.
