Cab-hailing app Bolt has expanded its services to 7 new towns in Kenya in a bid to reach more customers. The company will now serve customers in Embu, Karatina, Meru, Nyeri, and Nanyuki.
Furthermore, the ride-hailing company has also extended its presence in coastal towns like Malindi and Kilifi. A press statement from the company reveals that the expansion is part of the company’s mission to expand its urban footprint.

Furthermore, the company also launched safety initiatives such as SOS buttons, which allow a user to access emergency services during a trip. This is an addition to the “Share your ETA” feature, which helps other people to track a ride.
Other ride-hailing services in the country are also eyeing urban centers. For instance, SWVL, the bus hailing platform, has recently extended rides from Nairobi to Nakuru. Moreover, GetMyBoat launched boat services for leisure on the Kenyan coast.
