After a period of unease, BitPesa will be able to resume their service in Kenya after all. Not because Safaricom suddenly changed its mind, as that has not happened yet. But the Bitcoin company decided not to wait for a solution in that regard and signed a partnership with Kenya’s Airtel Money.
Bitpesa says the process of sending funds through Airtel Money is very straightforward and is supported by most major telcos in the country. It will be interesting to see how this scenario will play out over the next few months, and whether or not the stance towards Bitcoin changes over time.
