    BAT Kenya Appoints Chrispin Achola as New MD After Mrs Beverly Spencer Resigns

    The Board of British American Tobacco Kenya (BAT Kenya) has announced the resignation of its Managing Director Mrs Beverly Spencer-Obatoyinbo effective 31st December 2020 after serving for nearly 4 years in the position.

    Following the resignation, the company has appointed Mr Crispin Achola as the new Managing Director effective 1st January 2021.

    In a statement to investors, BAT Kenya noted that Mrs Beverly had completed her assignment and she will continue to serve in advisory capacity “for a period of time to ensure smooth transition”.

    About Crispin Achola

    Before this appointment, Mr Crispin Achola served as the General Manager at Kimberly Clark for West, East and Central Africa and Managing Director for Nigeria. Prior to that, he worked for BAT Kenya & BAT Group from 1999 to 2017 having held several roles such as Managing Director for Mozambique and Sudan.

    Mrs Beverly Spencer

    Before her appointment as BAT Kenya MD in March 2017, Spencer has previously worked for BAT in Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritius, Réunion Island, Somalia, Rwanda, and Uganda.

    Listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, BAT Kenya is part of the British American Tobacco Group (BAT Group) that manufactures and sells cigarettes, tobacco and other nicotine products.
