    Bamburi Cement Director resigns one year after appointment

    Nicolas George has resigned from the board of Bamburi Cement one year after his appointment. He joined the board in March 2018 for a three-year term.

    Nicholas also served as the CEO of Hima Cement, a Ugandan subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, between February 2018 and June 2019. The director left the company to pursue his own interests.

    The Board of Bamburi cement has appointed Jean-Michel Pons to replace him. Mr. Jean-Michel joined Lafarge group in 2011. He worked in Algeria, Serbia and his latest post as CEO at LafargeHolcim Moldova. His appointment took effect on 7th June. He will also serve as the Managing Director at Hima Cement in Uganda.

    Bamburi Cement is part LafargeHolcim, a leading supplier of building material throughout the world.
