In a notice dated 9th February 2018, Bamburi Cement Ltd announced that it has appointed Seddiq Hassani as a member of the Board of Directors and the Managing Director of the company. Seddiq will take over the position of MD from Eric Kironde, who held the positions of both acting MD and Finance Director since October 2017.
In 2000, Seddiq joined Lafarge in Morocco. He worked in logistics, control, operations, gypsum, marketing, purchasing, and strategy. Seddiq was the LafargeHolcim Head of Growth and Innovation for the Middle East and Africa since 2015.
Additionally, the company announced the appointment of Nicolas George as a member of the Board of Directors. Nicolas will act as the Managing Director of Hima Cement Ltd, Uganda.
Nicolas joined Lafarge in 2007 as China Strategy Manager. He also held positions in Singapore, Myanmar, and France.
The new changes in directorship will take effect immediately.
