Bamburi Cement, one of the top cement manufacturers in East Africa, has appointed John Stull as a non-executive director on its 12-member board. He replaces Pierre Deleplanque who resigned from the board on 15th April 2021.
John is the current Head of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions for LafargeHolcim Middle East & Africa region. He has worked with the LafargeHolcim Group for more than 28 years having joined the company as an operations manager in 1992.
The new appointee brings valuable skills and knowledge to the board of Bamburi Cement having worked in several senior roles including; Senior Vice President, Marketing and Supply Chain – Lafarge France, Regional President, Sub-Saharan Africa, President and Chief Executive Officer LafargeHolcim US, and President & Chief Executive Officer – LafargeHolcim Philippines.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Akron in Ohio and an Advance Management Degree from Harvard University in Massachusetts.
Following his appointment, the board of directors of Bamburi Cement, chaired by Dr John Simba, welcomed him to the board.
