APT Commodities Joins NSE's Ibuka Incubation Programme

APT Commodities Limited, a tea exporter, has been admitted by the Nairobi Securities Exchange Plc to join the Ibuka Program.

Ibuka is NSE’s incubation and acceleration program with an eventual aim to list the firm at the bourse. It will help to unlock the potential of tea exporter and scale up its businesses.

APT exports straight line and blend teas such as Jambo Chai Tangawizi, Hassan Tea and Equity Green Tea. It succesfully underwent a vigorous evaluation and vetting process that saw it selected as the first company by NSE.

Geoffrey Odundo, the NSE’s Chief Executive, expressed full confidence in APT Commodities admission to the program adding that its succesful evaluation by highly qualified expert consultants and financial advisors shows that it has high potential for growth.

“For NSE this is just the beginning of an exciting journey as 15 companies have already expressed interest in the program and 10 companies are undergoing a thorough vetting process,” he said.

Peter Gitata, APT’s Chief Executive noted, “We are delighted to join the Ibuka program in line with our strategic objective of growing our leading brands locally and internationally. This platform will enable us to scale higher in the already popularized Tea Industry.”
