The prestigious Angaza Awards program has once again opened its call for entries for the “2024 Top 10 Women to Watch” list, which aims to recognize and celebrate women making significant contributions to the financial services sector in Africa. With the entry period spanning from October 2023 to January 23, 2024, the program provides an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the remarkable women driving change and innovation across diverse financial industries in the Africa.
Launched in 2020, the Angaza Awards program has quickly gained recognition for its role in elevating the international awareness of the influential women in the financial services in Africa through their respective organizations. The 2023 edition saw participation from professionals from more than 17 different countries, showcasing the Awards’ growing significance and impact.
In a grand celebration of their achievements, the “2023 Top 10 Women to Watch” were recognized during the Angaza Forum, an event that took place in Kigali, Rwanda, on August 3rd and 4th. The forum not only showcased the honorees but also provided a platform for valuable discussions and networking opportunities.

The Angaza Awards employs rigorous criteria to identify and acknowledge the outstanding contributions of these women. These criteria includes an assessment of the applicants’ areas of responsibility and their direct impact on their organizations’ performance. Additionally, scores are awarded for achievements that transcend the institution, resulting in the creation of shared value within the sector and the community.
Professionals working in a wide range of financial fields are invited to submit their applications or nominations for the Awards. This includes individuals from Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance, Investment Banking, Fintech, Fund Management, Microfinance, and Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs).
