Airlink Limited, South Africa’s Airline, has launched direct flights between Johannesburg-Nairobi. The airline will start operation on 24th April 2023.
The airline will provide much-needed competition and additional choices for business and leisure travellers.
The service will be operated with the airline’s comfortable and efficient state-of-the-art 98-seat Embraer E190 jetliners.
Airlink’s CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster, stated that the company’s inclusion in the route aligns with the agreement made by Kenya and South Africa last November to eliminate trade barriers and enhance commercial and economic connections by facilitating business and cooperation in vital sectors and markets.
Additionally, it reflects South Africa’s decision to lift visa requirements for Kenyans who visit the country for up to 90 days, whereas South Africans don’t need visas to visit Kenya.
This is also an important moment for Eastern-Southern Africa connectivity. With Airlink’s network now including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and most of the Southern Africa Development Community nations, we offer travellers the widest set of choices and convenient regional and inter-continental connections on our own aircraft and with our global carrier partners. These enable the businesses and economies Airlink serves to expand its own respective market reach. Similarly, our competitive services will promote tourism in both markets, generating additional foreign travel spend.
