Here are the agriculture statistics for November and December 2017 based on data from Kenya National Bureau of Statistics. Some of the data is provisional while the December data for some agricultural products has not been recorded.
In December 2017, the amount of coffee auctioned at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange was 1,319.79 metric tonnes (MT). The average auction price at the time was Sh453 per kilogram.
The amount of tea produced rose from 45,373.52 MT in November 2017 to 47,506.63 MT in December 2017. Additionally, the price of processed tea decreased from Sh308.62 to Sh285.28 for every kilogram.
The quantity of cane deliveries declined from 571.21 thousand tonnes in November 2017 to 521.65 thousand tonnes in December 2017.
In November 2017, the average monthly price for every kilogram of maize was Sh60. On the other hand, beans went for Sh110.18 per kilogram in the same month.
The amount of cut-flower horticultural exports was 14,168.98 MT in November 2017 while the its value of exports was Sh6,943.91 million in the same month. The quantity of vegetable exports declined from 7,953.25 MT in October 2017 to 7,874.39 MT in November 2017. The value of vegetable exports grew from Sh1,891.61 million in October 2017 to Sh 2,093.66 million in November 2017.
