African Underground Mining Services (AUMS), a 50:50 joint venture between Ausdrill Limited (ASX: ASL) and Barminco Holdings Limited (“Barminco”) announced on 25 April 2017 that it has been awarded the Subika Underground Mining Contract with Newmont Ghana Gold at the Ahafo complex in Ghana.
The contract is a five year term to supply all underground mining services for the Subika Underground Mine, including development and production activities, diamond drilling and associated services.
The contract has an estimated value of USD$280 million.
African Underground Mining Services expects to begin activities in Q2, 2017.
