The Export-Import Bank (Afrexim Bank) will set up an office in Nairobi, President William Ruto has said.
On Thursday, Ruto met Afrexim Bank president Benedict Oramah and other officials of the bank at State House.
In a statement, Ruto said that engagement with the bank will help Kenya on investment areas.
“We welcome the plan by the African Export-Import Bank to set up an office in Nairobi. This will allow us to expand our engagement with the bank on several investment areas such as infrastructure, housing, the creative industry and the MSMEs ecosystem.” President William Ruto.
The bank is a pan-African multilateral trade finance institution created in 1993 under the auspices of the African Development Bank.
The bank has its headquarters in Egypt.
