    Absa Kenya Appoints Christine Mideva Sabwa as Non-Exec. Director

    Absa Kenya Plc Board of Directors has appointed Ms. Christine Mideva Sabwa as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from February 9th 2022.
    With over 25 years experience in Business Strategy, Financial Management, Financial Risk Assessment, Auditing and Business Advisory.

    Absa Kenya, a subsidiary of Absa Group Limited, is one of the top banks in Kenya. Its business units include Retail, Corporate, Treasury and Card Services with cross functional relationships to support the segments of local business and small to mid-sized enterprises (SME).

    Ms. Sabwa brings to the Absa Kenya Board, business and leadership skills that will be crucial in driving growth and shaping the future of the lender.

    She is currently Managing Partner of Sabwa& Associates, a business advisory firm providing services in audit, accounting, tax and finance. Prior to this, Ms Sabwa held several senior management roles including Bharti Airtel International where she was Chief Operating Officer for Airtel Money Business in Africa and previously the Finance Director for Africa mobile commerce business; CFC Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited and CFC Stanbic Holdings Limited where she was Group Finance Director and KPMG Kenya as an Auditor.

    Sabwa holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree( Accounting) from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.
