    Absa Kenya Appoints Fulvio Tonelli as a Non-executive Director

    The board of Absa bank Kenya has appointed Fulvio Tonelli to join the firm as a non-executive director with effect from 1st October 2020.

    Fulvio is a highly skilled auditor with more than 30 years of experience in addition to being a Chartered Accountant. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at PwC Africa for 12 years. He directed the firm’s Risk & Quality, Finance, Information Technology and all
    other internal support services. Prior to that, he was an audit partner in the accounting firm.

    [Mr Tonelli] brings to the Board a deep understanding of the banking industry and strategic thinking, in addition to extensive knowledge and experience in managing such areas of finance, risk and technology, all of which are key elements of the bank’s growth strategy.

    Fulvio holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons) (Accounting) from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Additionally, he is a member of the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
