On the heels of the prestigious and highly publicized Top 40 Under 40 business commendation awards in Kenya, we further explore one of the notable awards recipients, MediaPal CEO, Mr. Maurice Juma and his career growth in Africa’s burgeoning online landscape. Described as dynamic, responsive, and a pioneer, Maurice has carved out a niche and top-notch reputation as a disrupting trendsetter in the demanding digital marketing space. Maurice’s, decade long journey in tech business perfectly encapsulates why Nairobi is globally known & referred to as the silicone savannah.

After graduating with a degree in mathematics and computer science, Juma set up his flagship startup – Nano digital – “Nano was a vehicle that allowed me to see the bigger picture and introduced me to the corporate scene,” Maurice explains.

Nano set a foundational business template for Maurice and his partners as they ventured into the cutting-edge slot of how businesses advertise with their customers through pictorials and video messages via SMS. His time in this pivotal space propelled him to think bigger and after raising seed money, Juma identified the need to catapult with burgeoning tech times and formed MediaPal alongside one other techprenuer & an advertising executive.

“I realized the need to forge ahead and use what I had learnt building Nano as a steppingstone to harness a critical capacity position as tech continued to flourish at a rapid rate” says Maurice.

With Juma at its helm, MediaPal, has grown to position itself as a premier omnichannel digital advertising technology firm that enables marketers utilise big data to identify, gauge and enhance right audience participation online. From programmatic ads, digital-out-of-home, connected TV, conversational ads, augmented reality ads, audio and more. MediaPal has steadily invested in innovative solutions that provide forecourt marketing knowledge and exemplary experiences for its unique client needs.

“We remain efficiently keen and stay on top of global Marketing tech trends and strive to innovate and tailor-make, hence remain ahead of the curve – something that tech business demands. We are also prudent as well as adamant in investing and growing a workforce of specialists who are stringently particular in catering to exigent client and consumer necessities” Maurice asserts.

As MediaPal continues to organically grow and participate in Africa’s tech eruption, a plethora of appreciations, recognitions and commendations have been bestowed upon the tech firm now in its 5th year of business.

As we conclude, Maurice is candid about their growth into the era. He believes the natural progression is to morph into a data powerhouse supporting brands with their data needs through MediaPal Customer Data Platform that collects, unifies, segments then activate their data for marketing and business decision making leading to achievement of specific business outcomes. One thing remains certain while conversing with Maurice and getting insight on MediaPal offerings – the future is indeed tech data driven and he and his endeavors will surely feature.
