Custom World Seeks to have its Kigali Facility Run E-Commerce Activities

Custom World is seeking to have its Kigali facility run as a regional e-commerce hub. The facility, dubbed Dubai Ports World Kigali Logistics Platform, is an inland cargo handling facility.

The $35 million facility was launched in October 2019 and comprises of an Inland Container Terminal. The terminal has ample warehousing capacity, a container yard, administrative and services building and parking spaces.

Nadya Abdullah Al Kamali, Chief Executive at Custom World told The New Times that they are planning on merging the Kigali operations with e-commerce activities.

Customs World is in the process of selecting four hubs in Africa. It aims to increase its involvement in transport and logistics services across the globe.

Custom World provides its services to about 65 countries around the world. It recently launched an initiative named ” World Logistics Passport”. The initiative aims to boost the Dubai Silk Road Program and pave way for more expansion.

Custom World’s developments come at a time when logistics operations are expected to increase in Africa. This is in accordance to the Continental Free Trade Area agreement that takes effect next year.
