The NSE 20 share Index was down 19.12 points to stand at 1597.02. All Share Index NASI shed 1.19 points to settle at 120.41. The NSE 25 Share Index lost 23.15 points to settle at 2839.48.
The Derivatives Market had 13 contracts valued at KSh 268,000 transacted in today’s trading session.
The Safaricom Single Stock Futures contract expiring on 15th September 2022 traded five contracts valued at KSh 122,000 at a price of KSh24.40.
This is against a closing price of KSh24.00 posted by Safaricom in the spot market.
The top price gainer was Sameer which rose by 8.57% from KSh 3.50 to KSh 3.80, while the top loser at the bourse was Express Kenya, whose share price dipped 10% from KSh 3.00 to KSh 2.70.
The Banking Sector had shares worth KSh 99Million transacted, which accounted for 18.42% of the day’s traded value.
Equity Group Holdings actively moved 2 million shares valued at KSh 81Million at between KSh39.00 and KSh 40.00. KCB Group moved 344,000 shares valued at KSh12.7Million and closed at KSh 36.95. Co-operative Bank, down 1.38% to KSh10.75, moved 151,000 shares valued at KSh 1.6Million. ABSA Bank Kenya remained steady at KSh10.75 with shares worth KSh.1Million transacted.
Safaricom was the day’s main feature, with 15.7Million shares valued at KSh377Million changing hands between KSh 23.75 and KSh24.90; this represented 70.11% of the day’s traded value.
The Manufacturing & Allied sector had shares valued at KSh 53Million traded, representing 9.88% of the day’s traded value.
E.A Breweries touched a 12-month low of KSh118.00 before easing up to close at KSh120.00 with shares worth KSh 51Million transacted.
B.A.T moved 3,000 shares valued at KSh1.57Million and closed at KSh425.25.
The Bond market had bonds worth KSh2.54Billion transacted.
