Communication Authority (CA) Board has appointed Erza Chiloba Simiyu as the Authority’s Director-General for a renewable period of four years.
This appointment follows a competitive recruitment process to fill the position left vacant following the retirement of Francis Wangusi.
CA has had this poistion held by Mercy Wanjau in an acting capacity
Chiloba is a policy consultant and principal partner with Chil and Kemp consultancy and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He is the immediate former CEO of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC).
He holds a degree in law from the University of Nairobi, Masters of Arts from Central European University in Hungary, Master of Science in Program Management from Oxford, Postgraduate diploma in law from Kenya School of Law, Certificate in blockchain program from Said Business School in Oxford and has trained in Corporate Governance, Projects Management, Collaborative Leadership, Monitoring and Evaluation.
Chiloba has previously worked as Team Leader and Deputy Chief of Party with Development Alternative Inc and Project Analyst in charge of Governance, Electoral systems and processes with UNDP in Nairobi.
He has also worked as a Programs Officer with the Centre for Minority Rights and Development as well as Research and Coordination Officer with South Consulting.
Chiloba’s appointment takes effect immediately according to a statement from the Authority’s Board Chairman Senator Kembi Gitura.
