Ms Flora Mutai has been appointed the new Board Chairperson of Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), the first female to occupy this position. Jaswinder Bedi will serve as the Board Vice-Chairman
Ms Mutahi is part of a new leadership team picked during lobby group’s 17th Annual General Meeting, which was held virtually.
Flora Mutahi, accountant, entrepreneur, and corporate guru, is a former chairperson of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers and founder and CEO of Melvin Marsh International Limited.
KEPSA New Directors
After deliberations at the AGM, the nominated directors to serve for the next two years were confirmed as Ms Flora Mutahi (Chair), Jaswinder Bedi (Vice-Chair), Allen Gichuhi Darren J Gillen, Troy Yue, Eng. James Mwangi, Dr Elizabeth Wala, Stephen Gatagama, John Gachora, Macharia Muthondu, Mucai Kunyiha, Graham Shaw, Ms Catherine Musakali, Ms Eva Muraya, Bimal Kantaria, and Nicholas Nesbitt as an ex-officio.
Some of the appointed leaders have also been in the previous leadership team.
Ms Flora said her appointment is testimony to the business lobby taking the right direction in entrenching inclusivity and meritocracy in its leadership. She added that the youth and persons living with disabilities should also be considered for KEPSA leadership positions.
Patrick Obath takes over from Arch. Lee Karuri, as the new KEPSA Foundation Chair, and Ms Gloria Ndekei will serve as the Vice-Chair. The outgoing Chair, Nicolas Nesbitt, congratulated the incoming team and wished them success.
