East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) has appointed Daniel Kiprono as its new acting Managing Director, with effect from 8th February 2021. Kiprono replaces Mt Stephen Nthei who has held the position in an acting capacity since May 2019.
Kiprono has previously served in various roles at EAPCC including financial accountant, internal auditor, procurement manager, senior internal auditor, and current internal audit head. He also previously worked at the National Irrigation Board as a chief accountant.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member in good standing of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
East Africa Portland Cement company recorded a net loss of KSh2.8 billion for the year ended 30th June 2020, which was lower than the KSh3.4 billion net loss recorded in 2019. Revenues for the year ended 30th June 2020 declined by 13% to KSh2.47 billion from KSh2.85 billion at the end of 30th June 2019. The cement maker cited increased competition from rival cement companies as the reason behind the lower revenues this year.
