Nairobi Securities Exchange listed investment firm, Centum has appointed four independent non-executive directors to its board including the immediate former African Development Bank President Dr Donald Kaberuka.
Dr Donald Kaberuka is a Rwandan economist and a former Minister of Finance, he was the president and chairman of the African Development Bank between 2005 to 2015. Dr. Kaberuka is currently serving as the African Union High representative for the peace fund, is a member of the World Economic Forum Board of Trustees, Mo Ibrahim Foundation among many others.
Other appointments to the Board include Hon. William Byaruhanga who is currently the Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda. He is a specialist in matters investments and corporate finance law.
Ms Catherine Igathe has also been appointed as an independent non-executive director of Centum. She is currently the Managing Director of AIG Kenya Insurance Company Limited. Former Group Finance Director of CMC Holdings Ms Mary Githiaka Ngige has also been appointed as a director of the investment firm.
The appointments of the four independent directors have been made so as to be in compliance with the CMA requirements of independent non-executive directors.
