Irish budget airline, Ryanair, has announced plans to receive and fly its first Boeing 737 Max jets as of February 2021. This comes after just recently, Europe’s aviation regulator, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, declared the aircraft safe to fly after it was grounded in March 2019 following two accidents that left 346 people dead.
In September 2014, the airline placed an order for 200 737 Max jets. As of now, the airline has confirmed a firm order for 135 aircraft with options for a further 75. When the Boeing 737 jet’s global grounding took place in March last year, Ryanair was yet to take delivery of any MAX aircraft.
Ryanair is an Irish budget airline, with its headquarters in Swords, Dublin, Ireland. Its primary operational bases are at Dublin and London Stansted airports. It operates more than 400 Boeing 737-800 aircrafts.
The airline’s route network serves 38 countries in Europe, North Africa (Morocco), and the Middle East (Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan).
