Trading on Friday, 19th June 2020, at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) saw an 83% increase in turnover to KSh936.86 million from Thursday’s turnover of KSh512 million. Over 41.8 million shares were traded in 1274 transactions.
Safaricom was the top mover of the day with 11.89 million shares traded, closing the day at KSh30.90. Other top movers of the day were Absa (9.2 million) , Equity Group (6.16 million) and Kenya Power (4.93 million).
Top gainers of the day were Express Kenya (9.8%) and Eveready (8.91%). Britam Holdings gained 6.28% closing the day at KSh8.46 with 437,100 shares traded. Centum Investment closed in the top 4 gainers with an end of day share price appreciation of 2.94% to close at KSh26.30 per share.
The NSE saw a total of 48 Equities participate in trading, with 21 losing share price value at the end of the day’s trading.
I&M Holdings was the top loser of the day with an end of day share price depreciation of 8.10% to close at KSh48.25 per share. A total of 39,200 I&M shares were traded. Other losers of the day were Kenya Power (6.6%), Sameer Africa (5.88%), Longhorn (5.73%) and Trans Century (4.76%).
Bonds worth KSh2.27 billion were traded on the secondary bond market. On the derivatives market, only one Safaricom contract was traded, valued at KSh28,500.
