The United States Initial jobless claims for the week ending April 18 fell by 810,000 to 4.43 million compared to the previous week’s numbers of 5,237,000, revised down by 8,000. The total number of claims over the last five weeks now stands at more than 26 Million according to the US Department of Labor.
The West Texas Intermediate for June rose higher on Thursday’s session despite massive volatility earlier in the week induced by the virus outbreak.
The price of gold on today’s session hit an all-time high against the Euro, topping 1,600 per ounce for the first time as investors turned to safe-haven assets amid the COVI19 crisis.

Meanwhile, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has warned that global tourism could lose tourism receipts amounting to approximately $500 Billion in 2020 mainly driven by the pandemic.
