Plane manufacturer, Boeing, did not receive any plane orders in January 2020, attributed to the mess meted upon the company by the 737 Max crisis. This is the first time this is happening, since 1962.
This is in contrast to last year, when the plane maker recorded 45 orders for commercial jets in January.
Despite this, the company delivered 15 new airplanes, courtsey of prior orders. These include six 787 Dreamliners, a pair of 777s, two 767s, three 737NGs and two Air Force KC-46 tankers.
However, its long time nemesis, Airbus, recorded a total of 274 commercial airplanes orders in January, and has already delivered 31. At the close of last year, Airbus ousted Boeing as the leading company in aircraft deliveries.
