Bidco has partnered with America’s Land O’Lakes to invest KSh1.2 billion in the upgrade of an animal feed factory in Nakuru.
With the partnership, the plant will be able to process 28 tonnes of feed per hour. This will thus give them leverage against competitors such as Unga group.
Land O’Lakes, a member-owned agricultural cooperative focusing on the dairy industry, will bring its fully automated plant. This will, therefore, ensure efficiency in production and reduce human error.
According to Bidco, the partnership will introduce Pro Calf Starter, Pro Heifer Developer, Pig Starter 4-4-4 and Pro Calf Milk replacer into the Kenyan market.
Additionally, the plant is expected to create at least 100 direct jobs.
We are working with 30,000 farmers who supply us with maize, sunflower and soya seeds for processing of oil products. Once this is extracted, the soya cake, maize germ and sunflower cakes will be used in creating new animal feed products that will be fortified to suit different livestock nutritional needs.
