Kestrel Capital, one of the largest stockbroking firms in East Africa, has appointed Francis Mwangi as its new CEO. Mr Mwangi will replace Andre DeSimone, who left the position in March amid accusations of insider trading.
The founder and Chairman of Kestrel Capital Charles Field-Marsham exuded confidence in Francis who has more than 12 years of experience in the investments sector. “The Board is confident that he has the right skills, experience, and values for his new role in leading Kestrel Capital…” said the chairman.
Francis moved to Kestrel in February 2018 as an associate director, and in October, he was appointed an executive director in the company. Before that, he served as the head of research at Standard Investment Bank for close to seven years. At SIB, Mr. Mwangi advised local and foreign investors on viable investment opportunities in East Africa and helped structure major transactions in the region.
Mr. Francis Mwangi is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
