The Energy Regulatory Commission has announced an increase in retail pump fuel prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene increase by Kshs 5.25, Kshs 5.52 and Kshs 2.76 respectively for the period between 15th April to 14th May.
Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Sh. Sh106.60, Sh102.13 and Sh102.22 respectively.
In its monthly review, the agency has attributed such increase in fuel prices to the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products.
“Super Petrol increased by 9.14 percent from US$568.55 per tonne in February 2019 to US$620.54 per tonne in March 2019; Diesel increased by 11.19% from US$561.64 to US$624.51 per ton and Kerosene increased by 1.18 % from US$662.55 per ton,” the report noted.
In Nairobi, the newprices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene are Sh106.60, Sh102.13, and Sh102.22 respectively.
In Mombasa, the new prices are Sh103.98, Sh99.51 and Sh99.60, while in Kisumu the petroleum products will retail at Sh108.55, Sh104.08, and Sh102.22 respectively.
In last month’s review, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene in Nairobi retailed at Sh101.35, Sh96.61 and Sh99.46 respectively.
