All the three indices increased today with the NSE-20, NSE-25 and the NASI climbing 33.94pts, 35.78pts and 1.32pts to close the day at 4,008.53, 4,206.66 and 146.81 respectively. Market capitalization increased by 0.9% to KES 2,065.21bn (USD 20.19bn).
The number of shares and the total turnover declined by 42.6% and 31.6% to close at 11.35m shares and KES 339.27m (USD 3.32m) respectively. CFC Stanbic Bank gained 9.9% closing at KES 89.00 to be the highest gainer while Home Afrika was the top loser shedding off 8.9% to close at KES 2.05, adding onto yesterday’s 10% loss. Safaricom moved 5.2m shares to account for 46% of total shares traded.

Foreigners accounted for 78% of total turnover today. Foreigners were net buyers of SCOM, BRIT, EABL & BAT and net sellers of KCB, EQTY, COOP & I&M. Local trades were active on COOP, KCB, SCOM & BRIT
Foreign Participation
- Against the US Dollar, the Kenyan Shilling strengthened 0.04% year-to-date.
- Against the Sterling Pound, the Kenyan Shilling strengthened 1.07% year-to-date.
- Against the Euro, the Kenyan Shilling strengthened 1.67% year-to-date.
