Foreign companies have been warned against importing construction materials once they land lucrative Government contracts.
Speaking while moving the Petroleum Exploration, Development Production Bill, majority leader in parliament Aden Duale noted that in order to spur local manufacturing, stringent regulations should be put in place to prevent these companies from importing construction materials.
Kenya imports two key construction materials; steel and cement clinker according to a recent report by the Kenya Ports Authority.
