The Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) has released the nominees for the BAKE Awards 2018. BAKE, an organisation that promotes online content creation and free expression in Kenya, was established in 2012. The organisation recognises and awards the best bloggers in Kenya every year.
BAKE has also launched the voting phase which began Wednesday 4 April 2018 and will end on 30 April 2018. The gala event, which is the awards ceremony, will be held on 12 May 2018.
To vote for your best blogger, visit bakeawards.co.ke/vote. Once you vote, you will receive an SMS verification code. Only one vote can be cast per person.
The 2018 competition started on 11 January 2018 where bloggers in different categories submitted their applications to BAKE. A panel of judges then chose the best 5 nominees under every category.
The BAKE Awards 2018 judges were:
- Martin Muli – Founder and CEO of Eyeballs Marketing
- Ahmed Salim – GM at Qube Ltd
- Sam Wakoba – Founder, CEO, author at Techmoran.com.
- Muthoni Maingi – Head of Digital Campaigns at Oxfam International
- Josephine Mwangi – Head of Communication, Marketing and Stakeholder Engagements at Nailab Ltd
- Dr. Martin Mburu – Assistant Professor of English at the United States International University (USIU-Africa)
- Samuel Majani – Founder and CEO of Ghafla
- Samuel Mbugua – Business Development Manager at Node Africa Limited
- Maina Njuguna – Digital influencer.
- Mbugua Njihia – CEO of Symbiotic Media
