Former Capital Markets Authority CEO Mr Paul Melly has entered the race to replace Kericho Senator Charles Keter who was nominated to cabinet by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Melly who was also the deputy Chairman nad Chief Excutive Office of NSE Listed firm Standard Group said. “It is time for a fresh talent and to tackle real grassroots challenges facing our people through ensuring that devolution becomes a success. I will bring my extensive experience spanning 25 years in top management in the public and private sectors to the scene’,” said Melly He added that the county requires a truly independent -minded person who would not be trapped by vested interests. “My Political name they say shall be Chepkokosiot, (Eagle) I will stand for Independence, Courage, strength and vision! That is and has been my bird of inspiration for many years,” said Melly.
Mr Paul Melly was suspended from CMA in April 2003 before being fired on July 18 2004 for alleged mismanagement and embezzlement of public funds.
