SemaBOX, a leading Kenyan media company has announced the launch of WAZO podcast distribution platform. The platform wants to empower African podcasters by providing a direct earning avenue through plays and advertising revenue.
WAZO, derived from the Kiswahili word for “Thought,” embraces its name’s essence by encouraging diverse perspectives and voices to flourish in the podcasting world. The platform, initially available for free through the Wazo ONE plan, will enable podcasters to monetize their content while granting advertisers access to an audience of more than 39 million listeners across the SemaBOX creator network.
Founder and CEO of SemaBOX, Dan Aceda, expressed his excitement about WAZO’s potential impact. “Our goal has always been to help podcasters earn revenue, and we are confident that WAZO will be the tool that can unlock this effectively,” Aceda stated.
