Celo Camp, the 8-week virtual blockchain accelerator program created and run by Upright in collaboration with the Celo Foundation, has announced the launch of Batch 5 and invited founders and creators passionate about inclusive finance and mobile-first technology to apply by before March 22, 2022.
The program will run from April 25-June 17, 2022 with up to $150K up for grabs.
In a statement, the organizers said that since the start of Celo Camp in 2020, its alumni have gone on to raise over $41M in funding for their projects from Polychain, Davoa Capital, Electric Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Mercy Corps, Allegory, Flori, and other noteworthy investors. In addition, alumni projects have processed transactions on Celo totaling over $865M.
Some of the notable projects include Paysail, from Celo Camp Batch 2 (CCB2), and Umoja (CCB3). Paysail leverages the utility of stablecoins to enable instant, global B2B invoicing and payments, and recently attracted $4M in seed funding. Umoja, designed to accelerate economic equity across the Global South, recently raised $1.5M in pre-seed funding and partnered with Coinbase and Hope for Haiti to provide cash-based assistance to 300 Haitian families experiencing economic and social hardship.
