    Three Listed firms to Delay Publishing their 2020 Audited Accounts

    Three listed firms Home Afrika, East African Cables, Crown Paints, have announced that there will be a delay in publishing their audited financial results for the period ended 31st December 2020.

    While most listed firms have met the April 30th Deadline, most reported a substantial fall in earnings as COVID-19 pandemic took its toll on business

    Top on the list of listed firmCrown Paints Kenya Plc issued a notice to its shareholders that the audited financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2020 will not be ready for publication by 30th April 2021, being the deadline required by the Capital Markets Authority(CMA).

    The paint manufacturer attributes the delay to COVID-19 pandemic control measures in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

    The listed firm has been granted an extension to file its audited accounts on or before 15th June 2021.

    East African Cables, is also on the of listed firms that has a deadline of 30th June 2021 to file its 2020 end year results. It attributes the delay to failure to report on its Tanzanian subsidiary and disruption of reporting timelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Home Afrika Limited’s Board has also notified the investing public that there will be a delay in releasing the firm’s audited financial statements for the year ended 31st December 2020 financial from the set deadline of 30th April 2021 to 30th June 2021.

    This was a request from the Board of Directors resolution done on 28th April 2021.

    The extension will allow the external auditor to finalize with the audit for the subject period,” said Dan Awendo, Home Afrika MD, in a statement.
