    15 shortlisted for the post of Controller of Budget

    15 shortlisted for the post of Controller of Budget

    The Public Service Commission has issued a list of candidates to be interviewed for the position of Controller of Budget. The position fell vacant after the expiry of the 8-year non-renewable term served by Agnes Odhiambo.

    While the position received 87 applications, only 15 have been shortlisted for interview, scheduled to take place between October 9th, 2019 and Monday, 14th October 2019.

    This list of interviewees includes 9 males and 6 females, drawn from 13 Counties. The candidates are; Mr. William Kipkemboi Kirwa (Uasin Gishu), Mr. Abukar M. Abdirahman (Wajir), Dr. Margaret Nyakango Nyang’ate (Nyamira), Ms. Elizabeth W. Nguringa Mwathi (Nyeri), Mr. Abiniza Macklin Ogolla (Vihiga), Ms. Karen Njeri Kandie (Muranga), Mr. Muinde Patrick Mumo(Machakos), Mr. Stephen Masha (Kilifi), Ms. Celestine Munda(Siaya), Mr. Justus B. O. Nyamunga (Homa Bay), Mr. James A. Aloyo (Not indicated), Dr. Leonard Rangala Lari (Busia), Ms. Edith N. King’ori (Nyeri), Mr. Duncan E.O. Otieno (Kisumu), and Ms. Judith Akumu Mulure (Kakamega).

    Members of the public are invited to avail in writing any credible information of interest on any of the shortlisted candidates.  Submissions may be emailed to [email protected] to reach the undersigned on or before 7th October, 2019 at 5.00 pm.

    This panel is expected to forward names of three nominees to the President to pick one person who will then be vetted by Budget and Finance Committees in parliament.

    The Public Service Commission, in compliance with Section 4(2) of The Controller of Budget Act, 2016 declared a vacancy in the Office of the Controller of Budget through a Special Gazette Notice Vol. CXXI-No. 111 dated 27th August, 2019.

    The Commission proceeded to advertise, receive applications and convene the Committee for considering the applications and shortlisting in accordance with the Controller of Budget Act, 2016.

    In compliance with  Section  4(4) of the Act,  the Public  Service Commission published the names of all applicants in the Kenya  Gazette.
